This weekend the weather in the Twin Cities officially turned cold. I pulled out my wool sweaters, socks and boots and am slowly steeling myself that I’ll be cold for the next 5-6 months. Good thing for cute coats!
To celebrate fall and chilly temperatures, I headed over to my friend Lauren’s house with some lovely ladies to make all sorts of apple delights – pie, crisps, muffins and jam. Emily and I made easy crisps and a pie, while Lauren and Maggie concocted several amazing treats using intricate recipes (or in Maggie’s case – no recipe at all!)
It was a perfect afternoon with the ladies – we drank apple cider + brandy, peeled apples over good conversation and looked up recipes in Lauren’s many beautiful cookbooks (and now I have many new ways to prepare my current superfood – Kale!) Thanks for hosting us, Lauren! I always love visiting the Little Farmhouse.

Yum!! Makes me miss college! There was a cider mill down the street, and they made the most delicious cider donuts. Miss them every fall!
