Well, Christmas is a mere handful of days away and in our little bungalow it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We skipped the tree this year since we’ll be traveling over the holidays (we’re flying south in a few days, hooray!) but I pulled several well loved holiday items out for the mantel and doorways and crafted a few new things as well. Here’s a picture of our holiday mantel: (This mantel is clearly the only thing that gets really decorated for the seasons!)
Handmade: Felt trees, red stripe/birch straw wreath, pom pom garland, J and Y in “JOY”, painted red mason jar, ornament wreath
Purchased: Red deer from Home Goods, green glitter tree, stockings and holders from Target, candles from Crate and Barrel a few years ago, assorted ball ornaments
Vintage: Silver sleigh, “0” in JOY, snowman ornament and trios of red/gold ornaments, holly sprig (many of these were from Karl’s grandmother), woodennativity set
It’s been quiet on the blog for the past few weeks because I’ve been sewing!! After stocking my Etsy shop with flannel infinity scarves at Thanksgiving, things have been flying off the shelves! A HUGE thank you to all of you who have purchased items (including friends, strangers, co-workers!) I’ve had 44 sales since Black Friday – which means I’ve been burning the midnight oil sewing tote bags, cozy infinity scarves and a few custom orders. It’s been so fun to make beautiful things to share with others – thank you for supporting my hobby and legitimizing my creativity!
Many of my customers have been buying items as gifts – I know a lot of people are going to be unwrapping infinity scarves this Christmas!
The shop will be closing soon for the holidays, but will re-open on Dec. 29. I have some gorgeous (seriously, it’s so pretty!) fabric in the mail for late winter/spring scarves that I’ll debut before the new year. Check the blog and Instagram for updates and coupon codes!
I’ll be back with a final post before the holidays to share our Christmas card with all of you.
Stay cozy and enjoy the rest of the weekend, friends.
