On March 22, a day after my 28th birthday, my sister Emily and brother-in-law Chris welcomed their little baby boy Charlie! He was the best birthday present I could have asked for! There’s nothing like a sweet new baby in the family. It’s been really incredible to see my sister as a mom (she’s a great one!) and my parents as grandparents. They are thrilled and we’re all in love with the new addition.
In early May I headed down to North Carolina to visit so Charlie could get some quality time with his Auntie Meredith. He’s a total doll. (Can you say that about boy babies?) We had many bonding moments over diaper changes, bottles, burping and trying to keep his nook in his mouth. Perhaps our greatest memory was the 25 minute car ride we spent together in the backseat…Charlie was wailing at the top of his lungs (it was time to eat!) and while Emily drove us home I tried to calm the little buddy with constant chatter about street signs, traffic lights, the perils of Wal-Mart, and who knows what else. It was a great exercise in making conversation.
Here are some fun pics of sweet Charlie. I can’t wait to see him in a few weeks in Tennessee!
My little red headed nephew!
Can you tell how happy my mom is to be a grandmother? She glows! And Charlie hits himself in the face.
Lovely mama and her baby! Charlie’s over the photo shoot.
Party in his crib. With the pee pee teepee (yep.)
Fun times with great Aunt Starr!
Doing what he does best…chillin’ in the bunny bed.
Emily also created the sweetest nursery for her babe. I’ll share some pictures soon!
